Tellus Holdings, which is seeking approval to geosequester hazardous waste in the Northern Territory, says it would be open to receiving the huge stockpile of HCB waste held by Orica in Sydney.

Tellus Holdings has released an environmental impact statement for a $676 million facility that would receive up to 400,000 tonnes of hazardous waste annually and store it in salt beds deep underground.

NSW will discuss with other states and territories the feasibility of imposing nation-wide controls to prevent the long-distance transport of waste.
