US global investment firm KKR has taken a minority stake in Australia's largest carbon offsets company, and former Business Council president Grant King has joined its board.
A subsidy proposed by the King Review could lead to one million hectares of land being approved to earn soil carbon credits within five years, according to Corporate Carbon's Matthew Warnken.
On behalf of Woodside, Greening Australia will embark on a new nature-based carbon offset project that will deliver a million tonnes of abatement over 25 years.
Corporate Carbon managing director Matthew Warnken says his company's stretch goal is to register 100 new soil projects to earn carbon credits before the end of the year.
