A developer appealing a $200,000 penalty for clearing 23 hectares has been fined $80,000 for a separate land-clearing offence.

The NSW EPA is seeking to overturn a NSW Land and Environment Court ruling in which the court found the EPA's litigation over an alleged licence breach warranted 'the severest censure'.

A NSW court has fined a waste company and a director a total of $200,000 for ploughing untreated grease trap and septic waste into soil on a Bathurst farm.

The NSW Land and Environment Court has fined the operator of a western coalfields mine $105,000 for polluting a river, after accepting it was a first offence, despite a conviction against a related company.

The NSW EPA has laid six criminal charges against environmental consultancy Aargus Pty Ltd and two employees, nine years after the Queensland EPA successfully prosecuted it for providing false or misleading information in a separate case.
