The Northern Territory's independent EPA will inquire into the investigation and prosecution of Darwin Port Corporation, including the decision to downgrade the charge to environmental nuisance.

In the first prosecution in 13 years of the Northern Territory's Waste Management and Pollution Control Act, Darwin Ports Corporation has been fined $19,000 after pleading guilty to a downgraded 'environmental nuisance' charge.
