Victorians can expect new rules that prevent unsorted waste going to landfills or waste-to-energy facilities, and that keep organic waste out of landfills, according to a circular economy issues paper released today.
Waste company ResourceCo Pty Ltd has been fined $150,000 for sending heavily contaminated soil to an unsuitable landfill, adding to the $442,000 that it spent transferring the material to an appropriate site.
Highlights include a new EPBC study and several court decisions. Jobs include advisor to WA's Environment Minister, senior climate posts in Victoria, head of environment policy in Tasmania, and jobs with AdBri and Melbourne City Council.
